The twelve disciples of the Lord did many wondrous deeds, and in their journey they carried only a walking stick and no other luggage. They accomplished their mission of proclaiming the good news of the Lord, they drove out many demons and healed the sick – and they only had walking sticks in their possession. But it is not from this walking stick that they drew out their courage and strength, but it is from God’s mercy. They had set out their journeys without the amenities of travelling but they returned with their missions accomplished – all because God’s mercy were with them,

Lord Jesus, thank you for reminding me today never to be afraid of taking a long and difficult jorney in this life without amenities because with God’s mercy, anything is possible. Lord, thank you for letting me know that accomplishing great and wondrous deeds does not require material belongings at my disposal. Jesus, help me lead a life that solely rely upon God’s love and mercy.
