…whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.
From my daily e-mailed Kerygma Family Bible Reading and Gospel Reflections:
The majority of the Commandments deal with the way we treat one another. This ought to impress upon us the importance of relationships in our lives. If our relationships get damaged through sin, we will experience trouble and difficulty. It is therefore sensible to expend our energy on keeping our relationships healthy so that our experience of life will be more fulfilling.
Jesus emphasizes the truth that we are called to love and care for everyone. There are no exceptions to this. Love as a calling always has a place for another human being no matter what our relationship with that person may be and even if we have never met them before. Let us seek to imitate Jesus’ universal love for others as we strive to be His disciples.
Father in heaven, help me to see that the call of holiness is central to my life and that without making the effort to grow in holiness, grace will be lost to me.
