“Were not our hearts burning within us while he spoke to us on the way and opened the Scriptures to us?”

Luke 24 : 13 – 35

May 4, 2014 Bible Reading and Gospel

The disciples’ hearts burned within them when Jesus explained the Scriptures to them. Let us pray for the same experience when we meditate upon the Word of God. Let us seek to discover the heart of God through His word by begging the Holy Spirit to break it open for us as we read it. Let us commit ourselves to regular reading and reflection of the Scriptures as it is the most fruitful source of knowledge about God and His love for us.
